The historic cellar doors under the restored porch at Meadow Garden are once again ready to welcome visitors. Work has recently been completed to repair the doors and move them back to the original location in line with the exterior wall.
Before
After
The board and batten double doors lead from the exterior under the porch into the cellar hallway. The doors had been painted many times and no longer had period-appropriate hardware. The preservation team removed each door then sanded, primed, and repainted the doors in Charleston Green. New hand-forged hardware was installed and a new door bar for security was constructed.
