The historic roof of Meadow Garden is now uncovered. In the summer of 2019, Meadow Garden completed the historic porch restoration project. After this, the crew from Landmark Preservation, LLC started the project to restore the early period roofline on the oldest portion of the home.
The dormer added by Daughters of the American Revolution was removed as was the DAR period roofline. Most importantly, We found the early period roofline still in place–cedar shake shingles included! This removal exposed the historic roof line for the first time in over a century. Further evidence was discovered that continued to call into the question the orientation of the oldest portion of the home.
