Countdown to America’s 250th Anniversary
On July 4, 2026, our nation will commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. As the home of a signer of the Declaration, Meadow Garden is excited to be part of this commemoration.
The American Revolution began with the shots fired at Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775. Though the coming months and years we will follow the events of the revolution as well as the the events in the lives of George Walton and his family. George was an unlikely patriot who was orphaned at a young age but rose to play an important role in the founding of our country. His story helps us remember that people of every race, every faith, and every walk of life contributed to the American story.
We hope you will join us for many America 250 events here in Augusta. There are many landmarks, historical markers, museums, and sites dedicated to our American journey. Join us to explore history and find your own unforgettable American stories.
